Jeremiah & Lamentations

Jeremiah ministered for more than forty years to a people who repeatedly refused to hear God’s warnings, yet rejection, persecution, imprisonment, and apparent failure never caused him to abandon his calling. His life reveals the heart of a true servant of God: strong and uncompromising in proclaiming truth, yet tender enough to weep in secret over the sins and suffering of God’s people. Through Jeremiah’s calling, warnings against superficial religion and false prophets, exhortations to repentance, promises of restoration, and Lamentations’ cries of grief and hope, we discover that genuine ministry flows from a secret life with God. The servant whom God can use is one who delights in His Word, seeks Him wholeheartedly, refuses the influence of a corrupt world, remains faithful to the burden God has given, and cares deeply that His name be honored.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
