Through the Bible – Message 34

Zechariah
In this study of Zechariah, Zac Poonen unfolds a remarkable picture of God’s purpose for His Church. Through Zechariah’s visions, we see God calling His people out of Babylon, surrounding His Church as a wall of fire, defending His servants against Satan’s accusations, cleansing and clothing them in righteousness, and continually supplying His Church through the Holy Spirit. The message emphasizes wholeheartedness, godly leadership, fellowship without competition, grace that gives victory over sin, unity among those seeking godliness, and discernment concerning false religion and worldly ambition. Zechariah ultimately points forward to Christ—the Branch, the Cornerstone, the Shepherd—and to the day when the Lord will return and fully purify His people. The contrast is clear: Babylon seeks gain for itself; Jerusalem gives itself to build what belongs to God.
