Fundamental Biblical Truths Message 9

9. Repentance From All Sins
This study examines the biblical doctrine of repentance as a continual turning from everything that is contrary to the character of Christ. Repentance is presented not as victory itself, but as the first step toward victory, leading believers into deeper fellowship with God and increasing conformity to Jesus Christ. Through passages from Revelation, 1 John, Romans, Hebrews, and the teachings of Jesus, the lesson emphasizes the necessity of ongoing repentance, self-judgment rather than judging others, and dealing honestly with inward sin. The contrast between the Old Covenant’s focus on external obedience and the New Covenant’s emphasis on inward transformation reveals God’s desire to produce holiness within His people. True repentance, accompanied by faith and dependence on the Holy Spirit, leads believers into an overcoming life and increasing freedom from the power of sin.
