Through the Bible – Message 55

Philippians
In this study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians, Zac Poonen explains that the central theme of the epistle is having the mind of Christ. Although imprisoned for preaching the gospel, Paul demonstrated extraordinary joy, love, and concern for others. Through his example, we learn that genuine Christian maturity is revealed through humility, selflessness, spiritual discernment, unity, and a servant’s heart. Brother Zac emphasizes that believers must continually turn away from pride, selfish ambition, and confidence in earthly achievements, learning instead to count Christ as their greatest treasure. As God works within us through His Spirit, we are enabled to live without grumbling, rejoice in difficult circumstances, overcome anxiety through prayer, and find contentment in Christ. This study calls every believer to examine not merely what we do for God, but whether we possess the attitude of Jesus Christ.
