28. God Centered Prayer

In this study of the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6), we discover that Jesus did not merely teach His disciples what to pray but how to think when they pray. Before bringing personal needs before the Father, believers are taught to seek God’s glory, God’s kingdom, and God’s will above everything else. When prayer becomes God-centered rather than self-centered, faith grows, priorities change, forgiveness becomes essential, dependence upon God deepens, and victory over temptation becomes a daily pursuit. Jesus’ pattern of prayer calls every believer to live with God’s honor as the highest desire of the heart while trusting the heavenly Father to faithfully provide every earthly and spiritual need.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
