Hosea & Joel

The prophecies of Hosea and Joel reveal both the holiness and astonishing mercy of God toward His people. Through Hosea’s painful personal experience, God exposes spiritual adultery—the unfaithfulness that occurs whenever money, honor, pleasure, ministry, or anything else takes the place that belongs to Christ alone—while also displaying His unchanging love and desire to restore those who have wandered from Him. Hosea calls God’s people beyond superficial repentance to truly know the Lord, forsake their idols, and walk in His ways. Joel continues that call, urging God’s people to recognize His dealings, repent from the heart, seek Him with fasting and prayer, and prepare for the coming Day of the Lord. God’s purpose is not merely to judge but to restore, pour out His Spirit, produce genuine fruitfulness, turn people to righteousness, and ultimately dwell in the midst of a holy people who give Him first place in everything.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
