13. Quality Not Quantity – Inner Life Before Outer Life

This message examines one of the most important distinctions between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant: the shift from external obedience to inward transformation. While the Old Covenant emphasized outward actions, religious duties, and visible righteousness, the New Covenant focuses on the condition of the heart, including thoughts, motives, attitudes, and hidden life before God. Through Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 5–6, believers are called beyond merely avoiding sinful actions to allowing God to deal with the roots of sin such as anger, lust, pride, and self-seeking motives. The Christian life is measured not by the quantity of prayer, giving, or religious activity, but by the quality of one’s relationship with God and the sincerity of inward devotion. True New Covenant living values secret faithfulness, continual communion with God, and a heart that seeks His glory above human approval.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
