True faith does not look inward to measure its own strength but outward to the God who is faithful to fulfill His promises. Through Christ, we receive not only forgiveness from the guilt of sin but His life through the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin’s power. The believer is called to live under grace, walk in the freedom of the Spirit, trust God’s sovereignty in every circumstance, present the body wholly to God, and allow the mind to be continually renewed. But the gospel does not end with individual victory: it brings us into the Body of Christ, where we serve one another, refuse revenge and pride, accept believers who may differ from us, and glorify God together. The goal is what Paul calls “the obedience of faith”—a faith that receives what God has said and then yields itself to live accordingly.
