Through the Bible – Message 20

Psalms-2
This study journeys through Psalms 73–150, drawing out practical truths for a life lived wholly for God. Beginning with the psalmist’s struggle to understand why the wicked prosper, we learn that answers are found by drawing near to God and entering His presence. From there, the Psalms teach us to trust the Lord, treasure His Word, pursue holiness, hate evil, wait upon Him, walk uprightly, value fellowship, serve Him with gladness, and remain fruitful even in old age. Again and again, we see God as our refuge, strength, deliverer, shepherd, and faithful Father. As the Psalms move toward their conclusion, praise becomes increasingly prominent, reminding us that a life that may begin with many cries for help should mature into one overflowing with gratitude and worship. The Psalter reaches its grand finale in Psalm 150 with a simple call to every living person: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
