Through the Bible – Message 67

1 John
In this study of 1 John, Zac Poonen examines the Apostle John’s mature understanding of what truly matters in the Christian life. Rather than emphasizing outward religious activities, church organization, or spiritual gifts, John directs believers toward two eternal realities: the life of God and fellowship with Him and one another. The message explores walking in God’s light, confessing sin, receiving cleansing through Jesus Christ, growing in spiritual maturity, overcoming the world, and demonstrating genuine love through obedience and self-sacrifice. It also emphasizes the importance of spiritual discernment, the humanity of Jesus Christ, and the church’s responsibility to reveal God’s character through loving relationships. Above all, believers are encouraged to pursue an intimate knowledge of God and guard against anything that would take His place in their hearts.
