Who is True

Luke-2

In this study of Luke 6–14, Zac Poonen examines the practical life of a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Beginning with Jesus’ teaching on loving enemies, showing mercy, refusing retaliation, and treating others as we would want to be treated, the message moves through Christ’s compassion for suffering people, wholehearted surrender, the necessity of brokenness, taking up the cross daily, and respecting the different ministries God gives within the Body of Christ. It contrasts correct doctrine without compassion with the Good Samaritan’s practical love and Martha’s busyness with Mary’s choice to sit at Jesus’ feet, showing the need for both listening to God and serving others. The study also explores persistent prayer to our heavenly Father, dependence upon the Holy Spirit, freedom from hypocrisy, seeking God’s kingdom first, faithfully feeding God’s people, caring for those who cannot repay us, and finally Jesus’ uncompromising conditions of discipleship: loving Him above every earthly relationship, taking up the cross, and holding everything we possess as belonging to God.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
