In this study of the opening chapters of the Gospel of John, Zac Poonen shows that Christianity is not merely a message to be heard but a life to be seen. Jesus Christ, the eternal Word made flesh, perfectly revealed God through a life full of grace and truth. His life was the light of men, and those who follow Him are called to manifest that same light in their homes, relationships, work, finances, ministry, and everyday conduct. The study explores the baptism and fullness of the Holy Spirit, humility, the difference between mercy and grace, the New Covenant call to “come and see,” the transformation of water into wine, dependence upon the Father, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, true worship, faithful service, and freedom from seeking the honor of men. Throughout, the emphasis remains practical: the gospel must change how we live so that others can see the life and character of Jesus in us.
