1 Timothy

In this study of Paul’s first letter to Timothy, Zac Poonen examines the responsibilities of Christian leaders, the importance of sound doctrine, and the qualities that characterize genuine spiritual maturity. He emphasizes that the goal of all Christian teaching is love flowing from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. Through Paul’s personal testimony, we discover how God’s mercy transforms sinners and how spiritual growth produces greater humility. The study also addresses prayer, conduct in the church, qualifications for leadership, warnings against false teaching, and the importance of personal example. Above all, it reveals that the secret of godliness is not found in religious regulations or outward practices, but in Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh and whose life we are called to follow through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
