That We May Know Him

Who is True

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 17

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 17

February 24, 2026 Marion Merriweather Comments 0 Comment

In this continuation of the “All That Jesus Taught” series based on Matthew 28:20, this message emphasizes that Jesus came not only to forgive sins but to save His people from them (Matthew 1:21). Focusing particularly on anger and lust from the Sermon on the Mount, the study challenges believers to examine whether they know Christ merely as Forgiver or truly as Savior. Drawing from passages such as Matthew 5:22, John 15:5, Romans 7:7–8, and Romans 8:2, it explains that victory over inner sin is impossible through human effort, psychology, or self-control, but becomes a reality through faith in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit under the New Covenant.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
