All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 14

In this continuing study on All That Jesus Taught (Matthew 28:20), we examine Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:13–20 where He calls His disciples to be the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” Emphasizing quality over quantity, this message highlights how God often works through a faithful remnant—whether in Genesis, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, or the early church—to preserve and illuminate a dark world. True discipleship is not external ritual but the inward fulfillment of God’s law through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:4). Christ, who was the light of the world during His earthly ministry (John 8:12; John 9:5), now calls His followers to manifest His life so that their good works glorify the Father in heaven. This teaching challenges believers to pursue radical righteousness that exceeds the Pharisees’ external standard and reflects the very life of Christ.
