Man can contact three worlds with the three parts of his being: body, soul, and spirit.

The body is the lowest part of the three parts and takes the outermost place. It contacts with matter. Through the corporal (physical) body, man touches the physical world through the five senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.

The body is the part that gives us

World-Consciousness.

Besides the physical world, there is the psychological world. The psychological world cannot be contacted through our five senses. The word psychological originates from the Greek word “psuche” (psyche), which means “soul.” We can be full of grief, but we cannot hear, taste, smell, see or touch grief. It is something psychological, not physical.

The soul uses the body’s five senses as its agents in exploring matter, historical research, its self-expression, and communion with the outside world.

The soul belongs to man’s own self and reveals his personality, and it is our

Self-Consciousness.

In addition to the physical and psychological worlds, there is also the spiritual world. God and the angels belong to neither the physical nor the psychological world. God is a spirit, He belongs to the spiritual world.

We are in contact with the physical world through the physical part of our being, the five senses. Similarly, we can contact the psychological world by the psychological part of our being, which is our soul. We can realize a person is joyful by our mind and emotion, parts of the soul.

We cannot worship God with our body or soul using our mind and emotion. Since God is Spirit, we must use our human spirit to contact the Divine Spirit. The spirit is the noblest part of man and occupies the innermost area of our being. The spirit is that part by which we commune with God. It is only in the spirit that we can apprehend and worship God.

To contact these three worlds, we must use the corresponding part or organ within our being. We must use the correct organ for touching the things in these worlds. For example, if I try to see a photograph with my ears, I will not be able to do so. Although the photograph still exists, I cannot validate its existence because I am not using the proper organ to “see” it.

As believers, we know there is a God, and He is Spirit. Because most humans don’t know they have a spirit, they ask the question, “Who is God?” or “Where is God?” Again, it’s like having your eyes closed while questioning the existence of color. No matter how strongly you believe there is no color, color still exists. God is here, but we can’t use our eyes to see Him, our nose to smell Him, or our ears to hear Him.  These are the wrong organs to contact Him. Again, God is Spirit, and we must worship Him with our spirit.

John 4:24

²⁴ God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

The spirit tells us of our relationship with God, and it is the element called

God-Consciousness.

GOD DWELLS IN THE SPIRIT

SELF DWELLS IN THE SOUL

SENSES DWELL IN THE BODY

O Lord, we too like our mother Eve have been deceived. Thank You for not letting us go. Continue to shine in our darkness bringing Your truth to light that we may know You who is true!
