All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 23

In this study from Matthew 5 and 6, we examine Jesus’ correction of wrong attitudes—particularly seeking honor from men and the love of money. Jesus teaches that giving, praying, and fasting must be done in secret (Matthew 6:1–18), with the Father alone as our rewarder. He then warns that earthly treasure captures the heart (Matthew 6:19–24), making it impossible to serve both God and mammon. Using supporting passages such as Philippians 3:19, Luke 16:11, 1 Corinthians 9:14, Luke 14:26, Luke 18:1, and 1 Thessalonians 5:17, this message emphasizes that money must remain a servant—not a master. True spiritual riches, revelation, and Christlikeness are entrusted only to those who are faithful with earthly resources and whose joy remains rooted in the Lord alone.
