That We May Know Him

Who is True

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 19

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 19

February 26, 2026 Marion Merriweather Comments 0 Comment

In this study on All That Jesus Taught, we examine Matthew 5:33–37 and Christ’s command that our “yes” must be yes and our “no” must be no. Jesus raises the standard beyond the Old Testament prohibition of false witness and calls His disciples to radical inner truthfulness empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. Through examples from daily life, the early church (Ananias and Sapphira), and warnings from Scripture, this message emphasizes that loving the truth is essential to spiritual protection and ministry. Those who refuse the love of the truth risk deception, but those who embrace it are prepared to stand faithfully for Christ regardless of cost.

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
