That We May Know Him

Who is True

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 3

All That Jesus Taught-Lesson 3

February 5, 2026 Marion Merriweather

In this video, Zac Poonen teaches that the Great Commission extends far beyond conversion and baptism, calling believers to a lifelong pursuit of obedience to everything Jesus commanded. He challenges churches that prioritize music, programs, or outward excellence over the spiritual maturity of their members, stressing that true discipleship requires teaching people not just what Jesus taught, but how to live it out through personal example. While acknowledging that some biblical commands carry greater weight than others, he warns that disregarding even the “least” of Jesus’ commandments results in being least in the Kingdom of Heaven. He affirms that true disciples value every word from God and explains that “all that Jesus taught” includes the teachings found in the New Testament Epistles, which Jesus promised would be revealed through the Holy Spirit. (John 16:12-13)

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
